Creative Arts Center to host Raku open house

The Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles will host its 16th annual "Raku Day and Community Open House."

The Raku Preview Night will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 12. Tickets are $40 per person, purchased in advance. The Raku Open House will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 13. Admission is free.

Fun for all ages, come and celebrate your creative spirit at our 16th annual Raku Day and Community Open House. Purchase a bisque (fired once) piece of pottery made by Fine Line potters and take it to a special glaze table where you are taught to glaze your own masterpiece. Then you can watch how our potters fire your one-of-a-kind Raku treasure. The whole process takes about two hours. While you wait, there will be food available for purchase and art demonstrations to watch and participate in: indigo dying, handmade paper, knitting, beading, painting, weaving and more.

Back by popular demand, they are again offering Raku Preview Night. Purchase a $40 ticket and get first pick of the unglazed pottery and glazes, enjoy a picnic dinner and receive a $15 coupon toward your unfired piece. Call today at (630) 584-9443 or purchase tickets via the Web site at www.fineline.org
