Suburban chefs take stage at Taste Cooking Corner

Suburban chefs and celebrity chefs will share recipes and cooking tips during this year's Taste of Chicago.

Demonstrations run 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, June 26 to July 5 (last demo at 4 p.m. on the last day) at the Dominick's Cooking Corner. The demos are free and take place in a tent near the northwest corner of Buckingham Fountain in Chicago's Grant Park.

Television's top chef Emeril Lagasse headlines opening day with a demo at 4 p.m. He'll sign copies of his newest book, "Emeril at the Grill," beginning at 5 p.m.

Suburban chefs participating this year include Patrick Quakenbush of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Lincolnshire, Daniel Ovanin of Glen Prairie Restaurant in Glen Ellyn, David Oland of David's on Jefferson Hill in Naperville and Ying Stoller of Ying's Kitchen, Gurnee.

Taste of Chicago food tickets cost $8 for strip of 12; head to a local Dominick's by Thursday, June 25, and 12 tickets cost just $6.
