Police beat
• A Carpentersville driver was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Route 62 and Sandbloom Road, police said. Police said Hermila Lopez, 48, of 155 Madera Circle was cited for no valid driver's license and no proof of insurance. She was released after posting a $100 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 9 in Woodstock.
East Dundee
• A man accused of driving over at least 22 properties in East Dundee was taken into custody at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. The man drove his 1999 Toyota through front lawns on Hilton Avenue, Braeburn Road, Crestwood Drive, Kimberly Avenue, King Avenue, Aberdeen Drive and Wendt Avenue causing an unknown amount of damage, police said. Hasten Morgan, 27, of 205 King Ave., East Dundee, was charged with reckless driving, improper lane usage, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property, police said. Morgan posted $200 and was released with a Jan. 3 court date in Elgin.
Elgin
• A man was accused Sunday of stealing a black bag from a truck Oct. 12 on the 800 block of South Randall Road, police said. The bag contained a credit card that he tried to use at an Elgin gas station, police said. Michael M. Ramirez, 26, of 36W220 South St., Elgin, was charged with burglary and possession of a lost or mislaid credit card, police said. Ramirez was unable to post a $3,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. His next court date is Dec. 17 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A 25-year-old Elgin man was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Sunday after a domestic dispute, police said. Police said he punched a woman in the face and threatened to kill her. Mario V. Hallom of 320 Percy St. #6, was charged with unlawful restraint, domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, according to a report. Hallom was unable to post a $2,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. He is scheduled to appear Dec. 17 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A burglar entered Jimmy's Char House, 2290 Pointe Blvd., Elgin, early Saturday morning and stole about $1,200 in cash. The alarm at the restaurant sounded at 2:13 a.m. and police were called five minutes later. Police said the burglar pried open a rear kitchen door.
