Zambrano got only a slap on the wrist

Carlos Zambrano is a bad example to all young kids who watch and play the sport of baseball. His recent outrage was unnecessary and unwarranted. If he wants to call balls and strikes or make calls on the field, then he should become an umpire. However, he would not qualify because he can't control his temper.

The suspension he received doesn't even amount to a slap on the wrist. As a pitcher he should be suspended for five starts without pay. Then he may learn his lesson, or the Cubs might. He should be required to go to anger management classes, also. One incident is too many for so-called professional athletes to impress kids in a negative way.

The game of baseball is losing its future fan base with kids saying they have had enough of these antics. Drug use, immoral conduct and these scenes are chasing kids away from the game and the sport.
