Munhall School gets ready for its 50th anniversary

Munhall Elementary School in St. Charles is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

The school will host a day of celebration on Wednesday, May 13. There will be an all-school assembly from 1:30 to 2 p.m. and an open house from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. The evening celebration will include an art show, recorder concert and ice cream social. A short program will begin at 7:15 p.m. Join in celebrating the past, present and future. Current and former families, principals and staff are invited to attend these events.

The school would like to reconnect with former students, teachers and office staff from the past half century to share with us their experiences at Munhall.

Students plan to collect items from each grade level to put in a time capsule which will be buried on school grounds for future students to unearth, perhaps in another 50 years.
