Saturday's Fox Valley baseball roundup

Burlington Central pitcher Nick Hahn tied the school record for wins in impressive style Saturday.

The sophomore out-dueled Miami-bound Johnsburg senior Jerad Grundy in a 2-1, complete-game victory, allowing only 4 hits and 1 walk. He ties the mark of 10 wins achieved most recently by 2005 Daily Herald all-area co-captain Chris Ritchie (10-2).

The Rockets played errorless defense and Bill Rodriguez (2-for-2) had the game-winning, walk-off single in the seventh inning.

Senior Dave Hartwell (5-2) earned the win in a 13-3, six-inning victory to complete the sweep for Central. The Big Northern-East champs finished the regular season 21-6.

Huntley 6, Sycamore 0: Zach Liebman (9-1) tossed a complete-game 4-hitter, and Phil Pupillo went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI in a nonconference road win for Huntley (28-6-1).
