Man stabbed in Mount Prospect parking lot

Mount Prospect police say they are familiar with a man suspected in a stabbing in a grocery parking lot about 9 p.m. Wednesday. Cmdr. John Gross said the incident happened at MP Fiesta Market on the 1900 block of South Elmhurst Road. He said the assailant stabbed a 20-year-old man in the parking lot. He said the men knew each other. The victim was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. The suspect had not been arrested as of late Wednesday night, and police were still investigating. Gross said there were witnesses to the stabbing.
