We all need to find our true beliefs

One, NIU was a tragedy, yes, but the students at NIU are trying to move on with their lives. Don't forget the memories, but concentrate on stuff that is now, in the present, not three weeks ago.

Two, as I'm reading the opinions, some of the stuff that is said is just ludicrous.

For instance, a man from Elk Grove Village wrote "Give me a break. Anti-gun people get real for once. The person who commits these crimes is the one who is responsible for the murder he or she commits, not the guns."

It is true guns cannot fire themselves or reload, so why give sole trust to someone for a concealed weapon? Why trust someone you don't know, that you have no access to their background?

Three, should the government put stricter laws on the gun-control laws now? To be honest, it doesn't matter. Marijuana is illegal; people are still inhaling it, same as all the other drugs.

No matter how many laws you put down and try to enforce, there is absolutely no possible way that our communities and government can control those who do not abide by the law.

Four, the same man I had mentioned before also wrote "Why penalize law-abiding citizens? Penalize those who commit these crimes and do not infringe on our right. We have that right as law-abiding citizens and we still need that amendment today."

When you're in an athletic program and one person screws up during a practice, is it just that person that gets punished?

No, it is the entire team because that person is part of that team, same as all of their teammates. So why penalize law-abiders? Because everyone is a teammate in this nation, this nation is our team, Team USA.

Five, if the government passes a law saying that citizens can carry concealed weapons, there would be an age limit, of course. However, there would more fake IDs that would be produced. Teenagers make fake driver's licenses to get into clubs, bars, and buy alcohol.

Wake up call, every child has their bad streak and sometimes it ends up bad. Parents think their child wouldn't harm a butterfly when in fact the child could be suicidal or have voodoo dolls in their room.

For those affected by NIU, my heart is with all of you. It doesn't matter which university or college, my heart is out to all of them.

For those affected by these words, I am sorry but these are thoughts and opinions that have been boiling in my brain and had to be let go. We all need to look inside of ourselves and find our true beliefs and express them.
