Gala to throw spotlight on Visiting Nurse Association
Visiting Nurse Association of Fox Valley, an Aurora-based charitable health care organization, is busy preparing for its annual gala fundraiser from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora.
"VNA has been serving the health care needs of our community for over 90 years," said Linnea Windel, VNA of Fox Valley President/CEO. "Our annual gala is an opportunity for community members to celebrate our accomplishments with us."
Windel encourages those who have a connection with VNA and are in a position to help support VNA's humanitarian mission, to share in the celebration on June 6.
As a charitable organization, VNA focuses on bringing health care to those most vulnerable - community members with little or no insurance, critically ill patients, mothers and babies and the frail elderly. At the heart of the VNA mission is to serve everyone with compassion and dignity.
The backdrop for the gala is "Hollywood Through the Years." Guests should wear formal attire.
Beattie notes that event proceeds will benefit two VNA initiatives in 2009: The purchase of an ultrasound machine that will allow VNA to perform breast ultrasound testing and mammography services on-site at the Women's Health Center, thus eliminating transportation barriers for patients; and an expanded House calls program where physicians visit patients in their homes to provide medical care.
Tickets are $200 per person; $1,800 per table of 10 and include all food, beverages (open bar), and entertainment.
