Reed, Prospect beat Barrington

Prospect improved to 21-12 with a two game victory over Barrington in Mid-Suburban League boys volleyball crossover action Tuesday. The Knights prevailed 25-21, 25-23 behind 11 kills by Kevin Reed. Dan Hoffman chipped in 9 kills.

Setter Kevin Wolter handed out 24 assists.

Conant d. Hersey: Evan Lejman pounded out 7 kills and had 2 aces, and Matt Schimel added 6 kills as visiting Conant (19-10) rallied to knock off Hersey 22-25, 25-18. 25-20 in an MSL crossover. Setter Drew Fisher dished off 21 assists

Wheeling d. Hoffman Estates: Behind 8 kills from Dan Hehn and 7 from Matt Levine, Wheeling beat Hoffman Estates 25-8, 25-22 in MSL crossover action. Nate Lichetneberger served up 4 aces for the Wildcats, and setter Dan Speidel was credited with 17 assists.

Elk Grove d. Schaumburg: After splitting a pair of close games, Elk Grove roared to a 25-1 triumph in the deciding Game 3 to stop Schaumburg in an MSL crossover match. The Grens (17-14) won the opener 25-23, then fell by the identical score in Game 2. Szymon Gierut and Garrett Greaves both had 8 kills for the Grens, and setter John Weiland had 27 assists.

Glenn Frost led the Schaumburg attack with 9 kills, and setter Neal Goyke had 20 assists.

Rolling Meadows d. Palatine: Tyler Vinezeano led the way with 18 kills and 9 aces as Rolling Meadows beat Palatine 25-21, 25-18 in an MSL crossover. Weston Genovese added 9 kills and Ryan Kedzie had 8 for the Mustangs (19-12), who got 20 assists from setter Nick Marek.
