Streamwood 6, Elgin 0: Sophomore left-hander Josh Harris threw a complete-game, 1-hit shutout and Brian Brauer hit his 11th home run of the season, a 3-run shot in the fourth inning, to lead the Sabres (11-8-2, 9-4) to the Upstate Eight Conference victory. Brauer's 11 home runs are the most by any area player in a single season since Elgin's Chris Schultz finished with 11 home runs in 2005.

Maroons starting pitcher Tyler Loiseau (0-1) allowed 6 hits, but none of the 6 runs against him were earned due to 5 errors by Elgin (1-17, 1-12).

South Elgin 4, Lake Park 3: The Storm moved above .500 with their third straight Upstate Eight Conference home victory. South Elgin (10-9-1, 7-5-1) outhit the Lancers 12-4, led by Kyle Kinyon (3-for-4, 3 RBI) and 2 hits apiece from Brandon Stevens, Drew Buddle and David Handley. Sam Jordt (4-1) earned the victory with 7 innings of 4-hit pitching.

Burlington Central 9, Richmond-Burton 1: The Rockets strengthened their grip on first place in the Big Northern-East with this road win. Jeff Ehlers and Bill Rodriquez homered, Tyler Wilkening went 4-for-4, freshman Tanner Scott went 3-for-5 and senior pitcher David Hartwell (3-2) earned the win by scattering 7 hits in a complete-game effort for Central (12-6, 5-0).

Hampshire 9, North Boone 4: Ryan DeChant (3-0) held the Vikings to 2 earned runs on 5 hits and struck out eight in 5 innings to earn a Big Northern-East victory. Ryan Burke and DeChant each went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, Joe Moore homered and Ron Laramie went 2-for-2 with a double for the Whip-Purs (14-9, 5-2).

"It was a well-pitched game by DeChant and good hitting behind him," Hampshire coach Steve Ream said.
