Huntley's Clemons throws no-hitter in regional
Huntley senior Sam Clemons threw her first career no-hitter Tuesday as the Red Raiders rolled to a 15-1 win over Rockford Guilford in the opening round of the Class 4A Guilford softball regional.
Huntley (23-12) will take on the winner of today's Woodstock-DeKalb game in the 11 a.m. championship game on Saturday.
Clemons struck out six and walked two, with Guilford's only run scoring on an error.
Deana DeBosschere led the Red Raiders at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a triple and 4 RBI. Alex Albanese (3-for-4, 3 RBI), Sarah Clancy (2-for-2, 3B, 2 RBI), Amanda Wisniewski (2-for-3, RBI) and Jordan Hogue (2-for-3) also contributed to Huntley's 15-hit attack.
