Island Lake fishing derby canceled

A fishing derby scheduled for Feb. 1 in Island Lake has been canceled due to lack of ice on the town's big lake.

The annual event is put on by the Island Lake Lions Club.

Organizers don't know if there will be enough thick ice on the lake this winter to reschedule.
