No injuries in Bolingbrook house fire
No one was injured in an early morning fire Monday in Bolingbrook home, officials said.
The fire started at about 2:30 a.m at 5 Marquette Ct., and quickly spread to the first and second floors before fire fighters arrived on the scene, Bolingbrook Fire Department officials said.
The family made it out of the home on their own before the fire department arrived, officials said. No one was injured in the blaze.
The fire was extinguished about 4:30 a.m. Monday morning but caused extensive damage, officials said. The home was declared uninhabitable after the fire was snuffed out, officials added.
The displaced family is staying with relatives, officials said.
The fire remains under investigation, officials said, but appears to have started in the fireplace flue.
Crews from all Bolingbrook fire stations assisted on the scene, and mutual aid was brought in from the Darien-Woodridge, Romeoville, and the Lockport fire departments.
