Why not let Disney run the city?
It seems that the yoke of taxation is a very onerous burden to people these days. I have wondered why new novel ideas have not been floated out there? I was thinking we might consider contacting Disney Enterprises for ideas. I think that turning the city of Chicago into a "theme park" with an entrance fee would be a great source of revenue. All vehicles coming into the city would pay an admission fee. Chicago would have a means of collecting it at the periphery of the city where the major roads lead into Chicago. I would say let Disney run the city. I know this sounds pretty unusual but if we charged people for coming into the city it would generate a lot of money. My second thought is to have an Illinois state super gigantic garage sale at Navy Pier, where office furniture and other state stuff could be auctioned or raffled off. There is a lot of stuff the city just tosses out and it could be used to generate cash. All the departments, from fire to police, could bring their stuff. My other option is to have a citywide three day rotational workweek.
