Push lawmakers to back health-care bill

HR 676 is the bill proposed by Rep. John Conyers to provide Medicare for all. It would provide universal, single payer coverage, with no exclusions for pre-existing conditions. It would allow complete freedom to choose your own doctor and hospital and eliminate the current insurance company bureaucracy that directs and limits health care. The bill is available at the Web site for Physicians for National Health Care, pnhp.org. Since 1998, the health-care industry has spent over $4 billion lobbying Congress to prevent health-care reform. Most of the sponsors of this bill receive very little insurance industry money for their campaigns. But there are many members of Congress who receive health-care lobbying money. Mark Kirk has received over $1 million from the health-care industry and is not one of the co-sponsors of HR 676. Please ask him to represent our interests by supporting this bill to create real health-care reform.
