Two newcomers join District 120 board

Two incumbents are headed back to the Mundelein High School District 120 board, and they'll be joined by a pair of newcomers.

Veteran board members Vicky Kennedy and Edwin Specht won re-election to four-year terms Tuesday night. Challengers Robert Smith and Bryan Wilcox also won seats. With ballots in all 31 precincts counted, unofficial totals showed Kennedy had 2,242 votes, Smith had 1,887 votes, Wilcox had 1,840 votes, Specht had 1,818 votes and incumbent Gerald Munley had 1,727 votes. School finances and building needs were among the candidates' top priorities.
