Fire damages Warrenville home

A fire caused $25,000 to $50,000 damage Friday to a Warrenville home.

Firefighters were called to 3S 626 Wilbur Ave., about 1:40 p.m. for a structure fire, which was contained to an unspecified room.

The resident of the home escaped without incident and a cat was removed from the smokey interior, firefighters said.

No injuries were reported but the home was considered uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
