Seton Hall for Matusiak
St. Francis girls volleyball player Meghan Matusiak knows sooner than expected where she'll be playing in college.
Matusiak verbally committed to Seton Hall in a call to Pirates coach Kris Zeiter Monday night, and felt a weight lift off her shoulders in the process.
"I was really excited because I didn't actually think this would happen anytime soon," Matusiak said. "I thought I'd have to wait longer. There's no more overload. I feel really relieved. It's a really good feeling."
The 5-foot-11 senior right-side hitter also had an offer from South Dakota, but she took an official visit to Seton Hall over the weekend and decided the school in South Orange, N. J., was for her.
"I love it there," said Matusiak, who waited until she could talk over her decision with her parents, Dave and Laura, before making it official. "It's a perfect school. It's not too big and it's not too small, and when I met the team I loved them and I liked the head coach."
Matusiak will be rejoining St. Francis graduate Megan Murison, who is a freshman on Seton Hall's team.
"She's one of my close friends," Matusiak said.
