Prom dreams come true

High school girls in need of a prom dress are invited to shop for a free gown and accessories at the fifth annual Cinderella's Closet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18 at Aurora Community Center, 501 College Ave., Aurora. Sponsored by the Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc., the event lets girls shop among thousands of donated dresses, many of them new. "Fairy godmothers" serve as personal shoppers to help girls make selections; seamstresses are on hand to make quick alternations; and hairstylists offer suggestions on what looks work best with each dress. Girls need only to show proof of high school enrollment; no proof of financial need is required. For details, see www.jlkd.org or e-mail cinderellascloset@jlkd.org.
