Service to feature Honest Abe:
An Abraham Lincoln re-enactor and a group called the Battlefield Balladeers will perform at a special Thanksgiving Eve service, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 E. Grand, Lindenhurst. In addition to the Lincoln historical presentation there will be period music by the Battlefield Balladeers. The service will be followed by refreshments and a chance to chat with Lincoln. (847) 356-8140.

The Mundelein Park & Recreation District is an official U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for TotsĀ® distribution site. Through Dec. 2, families in need with children up to age 12, can apply to be considered to receive free toys through this annual campaign. To apply, visit the Mundelein Community Center, 1401 N. Midlothian Road, or call (847) 566-0650, ext. 28. Applicants must provide the full name, address, phone number, age and gender of their children. Lake County fugitive sought:
Lake County Crimestoppers is seeking information on the whereabouts of Jeffrey Garcia, 19, who is wanted on a warrant for escape and two counts of being a deadbeat parent, officials from Crimestoppers are reporting. Garcia is listed as being 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about the his whereabouts is asked to call Lake County Crimestoppers at (847) 662-2222. Tipsters who give information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive are eligible for cash rewards up to $1,000.
10th Congressional forum:
The six Republican primary candidates for the 10th Congressional District will appear at a forum Sunday sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the Republican Jewish Coalition. The event is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel, 933 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie. The event is free to RJC members and students; $20 fee for nonmembers. Candidates are William J. Cadigan of Winnetka; state Rep. Elizabeth Coulson of Glenview; Robert Dold of Kenilworth; Dick Green of Winnetka; Paul Hamann of Lake Forest; and Arie Friedman of Highland Park. Incumbent U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk is running for U.S. Senate.
