Route 45 to close

Route 45 at the CN railroad crossing will be closed for repairs from the morning rush hour of Tuesday, Dec. 1 through the evening rush hour of Friday, Dec. 4. This will be a total closure of Route 45 at the railroad crossing. Road closure signs will be displayed seven days before the project begins. A detour route involving Routes 21 and 60 will be marked during the closure.

Libertyville levy

The Libertyville village board will hold a public hearing at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, to discuss the 2009 property tax levy. The village board recently adopted a resolution estimating the amount of the levy, and must adopt the actual levy by ordinance to be submitted to the Lake County Clerk. Based on the board's recommendations, the village expects to receive about $5.8 million in property tax revenues. That would amount to an estimated 2 percent reduction in the village's share of a homeowners' property tax bill, assuming only a slight increase in the value of the property.

'No' vote for cellular antenna

Lake Barrington plan commissioners have recommended that the village board deny a 75-foot T-Mobile cellular antenna proposed for the Lake Barrington Shores golf course. The antenna has been strongly opposed by residents of Lake Barrington Shores since it was first brought up early last summer. The village board is scheduled to consider both the proposal and the plan commission's recommendation at 7 p.m. Jan. 5. There are four cellular antennas of approximately 120 feet each in the village's business park, which were approved during the late '80s and early '90s.
