Palatine Kiwanis sell peanuts
The Palatine Kiwanis Club will hold its 50th annual Peanut Day fundraiser Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26. Kiwanis members and their Peanut Partners, local organizations who will receive a portion of the money contributed, will sell peanuts on street corners and in shopping centers of Palatine. Kiwanis annually distributes almost $20,000 to local charities and organizations. In addition, the club and its junior high school partner, the Sundling Builders Club, provide food baskets for needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, parties for shut-in senior citizens and, with the Jaycees, an annual Christmas Party for needy children.
