Nine injured in three-car crash in Prairie Grove

Nine people were injured, at least one seriously, Saturday in an accident involving three cars on Route 176 in Prairie Grove. One person was flown from the scene by helicopter following the accident reported about 4:50 p.m. just east of Barreville Road.

Nunda Rural Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Mike Keenan said a total of nine people were taken to local hospitals.

Departments from Wauconda, McHenry, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Algonquin Woodstock and Wonder Lake were called to assist, he said.
