Hospice looking for volunteers
Family Centered Hospice will host a volunteer open houses and complimentary lunches in a variety of locations for those who are interested in learning more about becoming a hospice volunteer.
Individuals who attend will receive five hours of initial orientation that includes their own hospice handbook. Additionally, they will be invited to attend a specialized eight week training program in the fall.
The training program covers topics such as the needs of the dying, communication skills, spirituality, bereavement support, and hospice philosophy.
The volunteer open house training will take place locally from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 at 803 Royal Drive, McHenry.
