Arlington Heights
• Vandals hurled two bricks through the rear window on a 1999 Buick Century on the 1600 block of Courtland Drive between 6 p.m. Sept. 25 and 9 a.m. Sept. 26. Damage was estimated at $300.
• Vandals wrote graffiti with black markers on playground equipment in Olympic Park, 660 N. Ridge, between noon Sept. 26 and 7 a.m. Sept. 27.
• Vandals spray painted graffiti with black paint on two electric boxes, brick wall and water tank at the village's well site, 1405 W. Kirchoff Road, between 11 a.m. Sept. 24 and 8:40 a.m. Sept. 25.
• Vandals smashed a large green clay flowerpot in the backyard on the 1200 block of Vargo Lane between 8 p.m. Sept. 26 and 6 a.m. Sept. 27. Damage was estimated at $50.
• Vandals smashed windows on three vehicles at AutoTech, 1000 S. Arlington Heights Road, between 4 p.m. Sept. 25 and 8 a.m. Sept. 26.
• Vandals pulled a stake from the ground at Centennial Park, 1301 E. Burr Oak Drive, between 9 p.m. Sept. 24 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 25 and tried to chop down a tree with it. Damage was estimated at $300.
• A man broke a window in an apartment building vestibule on the 500 block of West Euclid Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Sept. 24. Residents heard the glass break and heard him shout. Officers found a trail of blood to the courtyard, but not a victim. Damage was estimated at $100.
• A vandal hurled a rock that broke the rear driver's-side window on a 2005 Acura sedan at a house on the 500 block of West Hackberry Drive between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
• Burglars broke into a 1999 Toyota RAV4 on the 600 block of North Dryden Avenue between 11 p.m. Sept. 26 and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 and stole a GPS unit, an MP3 players and debit card. Loss was estimated at $500.
Buffalo Grove
• Thieves took a boys gray Schwinn BMX bike out of a garage in the 1100 block of Franklin Lane between Sept. 14-25.
• Thieves took three bottles of vodka out of a store in the 1100 block of Lake-Cook Road about 8 p.m. Sept. 267. The clerk got a possible license plate number; the owner of that vehicle denied being involved.
Elk Grove Village
• Eric Lopez, 19, of the 100 block of Sunny Lane, Bensenville, was arrested at Elmhurst Road and Pan Am Boulevard about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 20 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving. His court date is Nov. 2.
• Thieves removed four 20-foot sections and two 10-foot sections and one 7-foot section of aluminum fencing worth $1,325 from the back parking lot of Putt Putt Golf, 408 E. Devon Ave. between Sept 17-19.
• Vandals on Sept. 26 smashed the entire exterior of a blue 1998 Ford Explorer, pulled off the front of the dashboard surrounding the radio faceplate, doing $4,000 damage. The vehicle was in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Busse Road.
• Thieves entered an unlocked silver 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck Sept. 26-27 in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Nerge Road and removed the I-Pass, an MP3 players, a set of bungee cords and the radar detector for a loss of $430.
• Vandals used a sharp object to scratch the hood, doors and trunk of a Dodge Caravan and a Chrysler 300C parked overnight Sept. 23 in a driveway in the 1200 block of Bradley Lane. Damage was $1,125.
• Pietro Mariano, 41, of the 0-100 block of North Waterford, Schaumburg, was arrested at 901 Meacham Road and charged with retail theft. His court date is Nov. 9.
Rolling Meadows
• Thieves took a black and white Mongoose brand BMX style bicycle valued at $170 from outside a residence in the 220 block of Algonquin Road between Sept. 20-22.
Wheeling
• Thieves stole a green mountain bike valued at $100 off a bike rack at the Indian Trails Library, 355 Schoenbeck Road, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23.
