Schaumburg school staying open despite H1N1 cases
A Lutheran school in Schaumburg will be open despite having two confirmed cases of H1N1, the school Web site announced Tuesday morning.
St. Peter Lutheran School, 208 E. Schaumburg Road, announced online at school.stpeterlcms.com that Principal Roger Kirsch confirmed two students have been diagnosed with the flu virus.
However, he said on the Web site that all precautions have been taken to disinfect hard surfaces throughout the building, though officials acknowledge swine flu is an airborne virus. The Web site also tells students to cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing and to wash hands several times throughout the day.
