No one is really bringing change

As I proud Republican voter of 12 years, I must say this: its time we send Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin through Bill O'Reilly's No Spin Zone.

From her claims of taking on the "good ol' boys" and "big oil" to her flip-flopping and misleading on the "Bridge to Nowhere," Gov. Palin has proved that while she may not be a Washington insider, she is more of the same.

By no means am I voting for Senator Obama because Senator McCain chose a weak and unqualified vice presidential candidate, but I when I cast my ballot, it will be with deep reservations.

Coupled with Obama's lack of experience, I personally think that in this election, the change we need or desire is not what we are going to get come Inauguration Day in 2009.

For yet another election, the Republican party has lost its focus and integrity in an election.

The 1994 Republican revolution was about change. The Contract with America brought to the table a plethora of reform ideas: balanced budgets, social security reform, welfare reform, line item vetoes, and congressional term limits to name a few.

In this election, both Senators McCain and Obama talk about change, but neither has truly provided a solid plan for us to believe that change is coming. Senator Obama speaks of change, but nothing as revolutionary as what the GOP brought to the table in 1994.

Palin is right: We do need "mavericks" in Washington, and we do need to bring government on the side of the people.

Sadly, she is failing to mention that neither she nor Senators McCain, Obama and Biden are going to be the ones to bring that change.
