Hoffman Estates
• Burglars stole 45-50 DVD movies, valued at $500, out of an apartment on the 900 block of Grand Canyon Parkway between 8 a.m. Oct. 14 and 1 p.m. Oct. 17.
• Thieves stole a black canvas briefcase with a hand-held computer after the male victim left it on a couch in the lobby at the Marriott Hotel, 4800 Hoffman Blvd., between 3:30 and 5 a.m. Oct. 16.
• Burglars broke into a 2006 Ford pickup truck on the 700 block of Jody Lane between 6 p.m. Oct. 15 and 6 a.m. Oct. 16 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $450.
• Vandals broke into a work trailer on the 1700 block of Manchester Drive between noon Oct. 16 and 7 a.m. Oct. 19. Several roofing guns were missing, but a value estimate for them and other possible items was not available. Damage was estimated at $200.
• Burglars stole a digital camera out of an unlocked 2004 Nissan Altima on the 1500 block of Cornell Court between 8 and 11:59 p.m. Oct. 19.
Palatine
• Junior A. Espinal, 27, of the 1900 block of North Green Lane, Palatine, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. Oct. 17 at T.J. Maxx, 1311 N. Rand Road, and charged with retail theft. Reports said he hid a leather jacket valued at $399 under his own coat.
• Scott A. Culley, 19, of the 1100 block of North Sterling Avenue, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 14 at North Sterling Avenue and East Countryside Drive and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol and consumption of alcohol.
• Burglars stole a cell phone out of a 1998 Mercury Villager van on the 100 block of North Hicks Road between 5:15 and 9:20 p.m. Oct. 19.
Schaumburg
• John R. Carter, 48, of the 3400 block of North Springfield Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11 p.m. Oct. 17 at Bahama Breeze, 406 E. Golf Road, and charged with aggravated assault to a police officer and criminal trespass. Reports said he was intoxicated, refused to leave the restaurant and attempted to punch an officer while officers stood with him outside the restaurant. His court date is Nov. 25.
• Joseph N. Davidson, 23, of the 100 block of Neptune Cove, McHenry, was arrested around 1:10 a.m. Oct. 17 at Heat Night Club, 616 E. Golf Road, and charged with battery. Reports said he punched a security guard in the back of his head when the guard tried to break up a fight between Davidson and a woman. His court date is Nov. 5.
• Shuntel J. Martin, 30, of the 3100 block of Collins Street, Rockford, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in a guest room at Extended Stay America, 2000 N. Roselle Road, and charged with battery. Reports said he grabbed a woman, choked and pushed her onto a bed during an argument over money. His court date is Nov. 30.
• Durell M. Shavers, 17, of the 2300 block of Oxhill Court, Schaumburg, was arrested around 3:40 p.m. Oct. 16 at his home and charged with battery. Reports said he grabbed a female student, rubbed her stomach and tried to touch her back side when she stood to get off the school bus at Knollwood and Knollwood Circle. His court date is Nov. 30.
