Schaumburg woman in critical condition

Schaumburg police are still investigating why a woman was found unresponsive in a house Friday morning.

The woman remains in critical condition in an unspecified area hospital, Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said.

Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Hilltop Drive at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

Police immediately began an investigation to determine how the woman came to be in that state, Nebl said. The house has been processed for evidence, and many interviews have been conducted, he added.

The circumstances appear to be confined to a single house, and there has never been a threat to the public's safety, Nebl said.

Neighbors and passers-by reported seeing what appeared to be an active crime scene around the house for much of the weekend, with police tape cordoning off the house and several police vehicles present.
