Geneva church offers play date and parent meetup Oct. 22
Recognizing that becoming parents or growing a family during the pandemic was especially hard, Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva is hosting a play date and parent meet-up on Saturday, Oct. 22.
This free event is offered as an opportunity for parents with young children to gather together and talk about their experiences.
The Rev. Traci Smith will lead parents in small group activities designed to help families learn to build traditions that reinforce family core values. The program is designed for parents with children 8 years old and younger, and older and younger siblings are also welcome.
The play date and parent meetup begins with coffee and check-in at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church, 227 East Side Drive.
Church staff and volunteers will staff the play date and will serve a healthy snack. Children will join the adults at the very end of the program for a sharing time.
Event leader Traci Smith is an ordained minister, author and mother of three.
She says, "My passion is helping families find times for connection and spiritual nourishment amid the hustle and bustle of daily life. I believe faith practices should be fun, easy to fit into daily life, and accessible to add." Read more about her at www.tracismith.com.
