Elburn needs strong leadership Anderson has demonstrated

When Elburn residents go to the polls to choose their village leader April 7, they'll want to go with experience. David Anderson, a retired grocer, has been Blackberry Township supervisor since 1995, served on the village board for two terms and was Kaneland Unit District 302 school board president for six years. He has the strong knowledge of government process that this growing community needs as it wrestles with infrastructure needs, diversifying its tax base, and managing a tight budget during difficult times.

Village Trustee Patricia Romke, on the board for two years and a Realtor involved in the community, also has good potential and a clear love of her town. We like her idea to make Elburn a "destination," a concept Anderson also endorses. But, during difficult times, we think Anderson's insight, knowledge and years of working with multiple layers of government give him an edge that will stand Elburn residents well. This town, nestled along Route 47 on the western reaches of the Metra line, faces some critical infrastructure needs, including better stormwater management, sewer and water, roads, parks. And holding the line on everything amid a recession, of course tops the list. David Anderson is endorsed. He'll bring strong leadership in a town that needs it.
