Get your car washed for a good cause

Members of the St. Charles East Drill team will wash cars, trucks, even motorcycles during their team's annual car wash fundraiser set for Saturday, June 20.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of McDowell Inc., 521 W. Main St. in downtown St. Charles.

Tickets are $6 per vehicle. Groups of the dance team members and their parents hand wash and hand dry the vehicles while the driver stays inside. Tire shine is available for an extra $1.

This event is one of the fundraisers held by the team each year to help pay for costumes, competition entry fees, and transportation to competitions.

The varsity and junior varsity drill teams perform at the St. Charles East football games, basketball games, as well as some other sports events, in addition to competing in Team Dance Illinois dance competitions.

Additional upcoming fundraisers include:

• The annual Kick-A-Thon, which also raises money for the American Cancer Society and LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, which is set for Oct. 23, at St. Charles East High School.

• "East Explosion" dance competition, set for Nov. 8, at St. Charles East High School.
