Eight arrested in underage drinking sting

Lake in the Hills police on March 13 cited eight individuals for serving alcohol to minors, officials announced Monday.

The citations were the result of an undercover compliance check in which police asked minors to attempt to buy alcohol at 17 establishments, said Jim Wales, the village's director of police and public safety.

Wales said he plans to file charges with the village's liquor control commission against the businesses that sold to the minors.

Police said the following individuals did not comply with the law:

• Steven R. Schuld, 47, of the 2900 block of Melbourne Lane, Lake in the Hills, who was working at the American Legion, 1101 W. Algonquin Road.

• Jayminkumar S. Amin, 23, of the 300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, Wheeling, who was working at Mobil on the Run, 101 Pyott Road.

• Meghraj Gupta, 61, of the 900 block of Aurbon Lane, Bartlett, who was working at Convenient Food Mart, 2126 Algonquin Road.

• Matthew A. Hutchinson, 24, of the 1400 block of Meadowsedge Lane in Carpentersville, who was working at La Trattoria, 9541 Ackman Road.

• John T. Davis, 28, of the 800 block of Balmoral Court, East Dundee, who was working at Bistro Wasabi, 4590 Algonquin Road.

• Michael A. Henderson, 46, of the 100 block of Skyline Drive, Carpentersville, who was working at Love's Liquors, 120 N. Randall Road.

• Adam R. Schuster, 18, of the 200 block of Beach Drive, Algonquin, who was working at Noodles & Company, 315 N. Randall Road.

• Thomas M. French, 60, of the 17N000 block of Adams Drive, West Dundee, who was working at Winestyles, 319 N. Randall Road.
