Prescription forgery arrest:
Lisle police arrested a Bartlett man for forging a prescription for 60 Vicodin pills, authorities said Tuesday. Joseph P. Pryor, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance after he used the forged prescription at a grocery store pharmacy Monday. Police were tipped off by pharmacists who said someone was coming in to pick up the pills from a prescription they learned had been forged a week ago. Police waited until the pills were purchased and the suspect had left the store before making the arrest around 1:30 p.m. Pryor's next court date is April 17.
Itasca roadside safety check:
The Illinois State Police and Itasca police will conduct a joint roadside safety check in Itasca on the evening of March 13. Officers will be looking for motorists driving under the influence, transporting open alcoholic beverages, operating unsafe vehicles and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's licenses. State police say alcohol and drugs are a factor in more than 40 percent of all fatal traffic accidents in Illinois. This safety check is part of the "You Drink and Drive, You Lose" Campaign and is funded through a grant administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
