Man convicted of soliciting boy now faces child porn charges
A former St. Charles man convicted of sexually soliciting a boy is now facing child sexual assault material charges.
Edward Izenstark, 40, of the 300 block of Western Avenue in Joliet, has been charged with 20 felony counts of reproducing or possessing CSAM materials, according to Kane County court records.
The Kane County Child Exploitation Unit investigated the case. The charges filed on Oct. 28 allege the crimes happened May 8, 2023.
Izenstark is being held in the Kane County jail, awaiting a Nov. 6 pretrial detention hearing.
He was released on parole from prison Oct. 15.
Izenstark pleaded guilty in January 2025 to indecent solicitation, traveling to meet a minor, grooming and solicitation of a sexual act.
In that case, Kane County prosecutors said he communicated with a 13-year-old boy via FaceTime calls, Instagram and chat messages between July 1 and Aug. 12, 2023. Izenstark asked to see nude photos of the boy, offered to pay for sex, and arranged to meet in the parking lot in South Elgin, authorities said.
Izenstark told Elgin police he was engaging in “fictitious role-playing,” according to a police report.
Izenstark had been the president of a middle school PTO and worked in schools as a paraprofessional, according to a Kane County prosecutor.
