Learn about Hamilton’s financial legacy at Glen Ellyn Historical Society event

On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society welcomes presenter Terry Lynch on “Alexander Hamilton: Financing a New Nation.” The presentation will be at 2 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

Hamilton believed that a financially stable government was crucial for defending against foreign threats. He made concessions with his adversaries to ensure a balanced budget and fulfill the commitments made to the veterans of the Continental Army.

Interestingly, the policies Hamilton’s opponents initially resisted benefited them once they assumed power.

Admission is $10 or free for Glen Ellyn Historical Society members and students. For details, call 630-469-1867 and visit gehs.org.
