Streamwood teen entertains Marklund Wasmond Center residents

Eric Rogers, a student at St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin and member of the school choir, treated residents and staff of the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin to a special solo vocal performance on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

His talent, enthusiasm and love of music filled the room with smiles and made for a memorable afternoon. The Streamwood teen connected with Marklund after volunteering at the nonprofit organization with his class earlier in the month.

Volunteer opportunities

Marklund offers volunteer opportunities for individuals, businesses, schools, clubs, or groups seeking to engage with the community.

This may include: outings taking residents into the community with staff; visits to parks, petting zoo, shopping, movies, bowling, and more; in-house activities which are offered throughout the day and weekends; arts & crafts, games, reading, sports games, gardening; special events; summer games, community gift opening, movie night, cultural and holiday celebrations, baseball games in Geneva.
