Fire damages Woodridge apartment building

A fire Thursday morning caused significant damage to an apartment building in Woodridge.
It was reported around 10:40 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Woodward Avenue, in the Windsor Lakes apartment complex.
Flames were seen at first on the exterior of a first-floor apartment.
Residents watching the fire said it appeared to be fueled by natural gas.
The Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District is the lead agency fighting the fire.
The apartment complex was built in 1976, according to Downers Grove Township assessor’s records.
