Wheaton’s Gary UMC to hold Pet Blessing Oct. 4

All people and their pets of all kinds (stuffed animals, too) are invited to Gary United Methodist Church’s annual “Blessing of the Animals” on Sunday, Oct. 4.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. with a reading from Scripture, a brief prayer, and then individual blessings for all critters through 4 p.m. (weather permitting) in the church courtyard, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton.

The church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. Traditional worship is at 9 a.m. and blended worship at 11:11 a.m. Sundays. At both services, Kids’ Church and nursery care is available. Between services there’s Sunday school for all ages and a coffee fellowship hour.
