Wheaton’s Gary UMC to join in Environment & Spirituality Summit livestream

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will be livestreaming environmentalist Bill McKibben’s keynote talk from Faith in Place’s 2026 Environment & Spirituality Summit. The church doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the livestream starting at 6 p.m.

The summit’s theme, “Grounded Resistance,” explores how to engage the world from a place of deep grounding, collective support and sustained resistance.

McKibben will draw on decades of organizing, writing and movement-building to share the moral and spiritual stakes of the climate crisis. He will invite communities of faith to harness their collective power to confront fossil fuel reliance and advance climate justice. The watch party is free. All are welcome, but you need to register in advance at garychurch.org/registrations.
