Gambling machines targeted in pair of early morning burglaries in Schaumburg

Two Schaumburg-area businesses that operate gambling machines were targeted by burglars early Tuesday morning, according to police.

About 6:02 a.m., officers responded to a gambling business on the 800 block of South Roselle Road after the owner called to report seeing on surveillance video people breaking into the gambling machines after forcing their way in through the front door, police said.

Just as the officers arrived at that scene, another call came in of burglars breaking into a restaurant that also operated gambling machines on the 600 block of South Roselle Road.

The burglars were last seen fleeing northbound on Roselle Road in a gray vehicle, police said. They were described only as four masked offenders.

An investigation of both incidents, including what was taken, remains underway, police said.
