Gary UMC in Wheaton offers camp for school off days
On many of the non-attendance days scattered throughout the school year, Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will offer a camp where kids can have fun and parents will have access to a quiet workspace.
“Camp Gary” for preschool 3-year-olds through fifth grade will be offered on Friday, Sept. 25, Friday, Oct. 9 and Monday, Nov. 2, at the church, 224 N. Main St. Full day is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and campers will need to bring their own lunch. A half day is 9 a.m. to noon.
Activities will include games, stories, songs, crafts, snacks and fun time hanging out with friends. And, for parents and caretakers, you’ll have access to a quiet workspace stocked with coffee and doughnuts.
Suggested donation is $20 per child per date. Register at garychurch.org/registrations.
The church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. On Sundays, traditional worship is at 9 a.m. and blended worship at 11:11 a.m. At both services, Kids’ Church and nursery care is available. Between services there’s Sunday school for all ages and a coffee fellowship hour. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
