Wheaton’s Gary UMC offers ‘How to Read the Bible’ class this fall

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is offering a class on “How to Read the Bible” at 10:10 a.m. Sundays, Sept. 13 to Oct. 4.

This series will explore practical approaches to reading Scripture, considering its historical context, literary genres and theological themes while equipping participants with tools to engage the Bible with greater confidence and curiosity.

Join Bible scholars Michael Graves and Daniel Somboonsiri for this study, open to people new to the Bible through lifelong learners of Scripture.

This class complements the church’s worship series, “Making Sense of the Bible,” starting Sept. 6.

The church at 224 N. Main St. has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. The final summer worship will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, including Kids’ Church. At 10 a.m. there’s a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.

Starting Sunday, Sept. 13, the church will restart its second service at 11:11 a.m., along with Sunday school for all ages between services. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
