Saccotelli won’t seek fourth term on Mount Prospect board

Longtime Mount Prospect village Trustee Colleen Saccotelli has announced she will not be running for reelection next year.

“It has been a privilege to serve my community these past 11 years,” said Saccotelli, who has served three four-year terms on the village board.

Saccotelli noted she first ran as a new resident with a young family, hoping to serve an underrepresented demographic in the community.

“Over the course of my three terms on the board, I have worked to make policy decisions serving the best interests of the entire Mount Prospect community,” she said.

Among them, she said, were policies that were financially responsible, furthered economic development, supported public safety and promoted the accessibility and inclusiveness of local government.

She said she is proud of the village’s growth during her tenure, including the redevelopment of the downtown, but also of the village’s investments in the new police and fire headquarters and the bridge linking Melas and Meadows parks.
