Dining out: Cinco de drinko at Fat Rosie’s, dining deal for educators at Kona Grill

Fat Rosie’s is kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15) early with its September “Cinco de Drinko” festivities, part of the yearlong celebration that transforms the fifth of every month into an excuse to raise a glass while helping a good cause.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, guests at all suburban locations can enjoy live entertainment, face painting (noon to 2 p.m.) and a featured Cantarito cocktail, with $2 from every featured drink sold to going to No Kid Hungry.

Since launching in June, the event has helped a more than 1,000 kids through its partnership with No Kid Hungry.

Mariachis will perform from 1-3 p.m. in Naperville and Oak Brook, while solo artists will perform from 1-3 p.m. in Lincolnshire and Lincolnwood and 6-8 p.m. in Schaumburg. A live DJ will kick off at 7 p.m. in Rosemont.

Back to school

Kona Grill in Oak Brook is thanking educators who recently headed back to school this fall.

From now until Sept. 7, education professionals can receive a BOGO entrée with a valid school ID. The dine-in-only offer is available on select menu items, including the 6-ounce filet, steakhouse burger, sweet-chili glazed salmon and lemon garlic penne with chicken or shrimp.

And for those who are ready to drink to/because of the new school year, Kona Margaritas are $6.

The offer is limited to two per table and cannot be combined with other promotions, including happy hour.
