Mundelein officials want to hear from people about business opportunities

Time is almost up for Mundelein business owners, workers and residents to complete an online survey about the local business climate.

Available at shorturl.at/K4USL, the 16-question survey is designed to identify ways to support and serve businesses in the village through programs, networking opportunities and other activities.

In an email Monday, Mayor Robin Meier said she and village staffers are working with a nonprofit group called the Mundelein Community Connection to find “ways to meaningfully connect with businesses.”

The team is after “initiatives that provide real benefits to the businesses in their eyes,” Meier said.

The survey asks about the business support offered by the village, communication with businesses, possible networking activities and related subjects.

The deadline to complete the survey is Monday, Sept. 7.

Officials intend to use the survey results to create ways “to assist businesses in networking, resources and ways to succeed and grow,” Meier said.

The results are intended primarily for internal use as officials update the village’s economic development and business strategies, said Amanda Orenchuk, Mundelein’s community development director.

The project follows the disbanding this spring of Mundelein’s Economic Development Commission, which was an advisory panel to the village board on business-related issues.
