Addison man pleads guilty to having child sexual abuse materials, traveling to meet minor
An Addison man who was arrested after private citizens began investigating him has pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse materials, traveling to meet a minor and possession of obscene materials.
Michael Rovituso Minneci, 33, of the 800 block of West Heritage Drive, pleaded guilty Wednesday, according to DuPage County court records.
Rovituso Minneci was arrested in February.
In February, prosecutors said Rovituso Minneci accepted a Facebook friend request from a girl named Jazmine in August 2025. Jazmine was a decoy invented by a group of adults.
An adult acting as Jazmine tried to confront Rovituso Minneci at his house in November. The group told Addison police of the investigation and gave police copies of the message exchange, according to prosecutors.
Police began investigating.
In February, individuals posing as Jazmine contacted police again, saying Rovituso Minneci had arranged to meet Jazmine at a hotel. One of the group members, wearing a body camera, confronted Rovituso Minneci in the hotel’s parking lot.
He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and four years of sex offender probation. He was given credit for the 187 days he had spent in the DuPage County jail since his arrest.
Rovituso Minneci will have to register as a sex offender.
