Body found in Busse Woods identified as missing Schaumburg man

A body found Saturday evening in the Busse Woods North forest preserve near Elk Grove Village was identified Tuesday as that of a missing Schaumburg man.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office positively identified the remains as those of 43-year-old Anthony Richert. The results of further tests are needed to determine the cause and manner of death, officials said.

The body was found during a search for Richert after Schaumburg detectives located his vehicle parked at Busse Woods’ North Grove 2 and began coordinating with forest preserve police.

Schaumburg police reached out to the public Friday for assistance in finding Richert. He reportedly was last seen by a family member leaving his home about 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, and suffered from several medical conditions requiring medication he didn’t have with him.
