Man killed in overnight shooting in Ingleside

The Lake County sheriff’s office is investigating a fatal overnight shooting in Ingleside.

About 3:10 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in progress at a home on the 25900 block of West Laneville Drive. While responding, sheriff’s 911 dispatchers learned someone inside the home was shot and the shooter was still armed, authorities said.

Deputies found a person matching the description of the suspected shooter outside the home and arrested him, authorities said. A firearm was recovered.

An unnamed man was found dead inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds, authorities said.

The Lake County coroner’s office is scheduling an autopsy.

Lake County sheriff's detectives continue to investigate the shooting. No charges have been filed at this time.
